Grown Men Playing With Toys

They said we were too old. We said "Hold our dice!"

Join us as two best friends, strategic / stoic “Erik” and observant / energetic “Steve”, as they embark on this passion project to discuss topics and experiences that surround their world of Warhammer gaming.

This post will focus on the Chaos Rhino models. For these models, I went with a very basic look. I started by priming all 3 Citadel Chaos Black. I then solicited Steve’s help to airbrush them Citadel Kakophoni Purple before shading them with Citadel Druchii Violet to match all of the infantry in my army. This left them with a watermarked look that I enjoy as it makes them feel like they just drove out of the Warp. For the last of the base coats, I then used Citadel Leadbelcher to lightly brush the guns and other metallic bits. The pictures at this point are shown below.

From there, I shaded all of the Leadbelcher with Nuln Oil to bring out the details before moving on to painting the gold bits. For the gold, I used Army painter Greedy Gold and painted all of the icons, spikes, and the two exhaust ports on the sides of the Rhino. These were then shaded with Citadel Agrax Earthshade.

Finally, I painted the tracks black and skulls with a basic white before Nuln Oiling both as well. The final pictures are below.
